March news

The first week of March gone already and what a busy one.  The girls are off school for their ‘February Half term’, we’ve not gone away and have visited a couple of local attractions while carrying on with the jobs at the site and the house – snow and other weather phenomena permitting!!

We visited ZooParc de Beauval in St Aignan (half an hour from the site)...
Baby Manatee born October 2017

The famous baby Panda

Always changing and improving well worth a visit even if you’ve been before.  It is classified as one of the top 10 zoos in the world.  Last year’s improvements to the ‘Land of the Lions’ are excellent and this year the bears are due to be re-housed among the other ongoing changes.
Discounted tickets to the zoo are available from the site during the season.

We also visited (some of us for the first time) the Caves des Roches in Bourré (20 mins from the site) One of the few mushroom growers still operating in the area (at one time there were 60 in Bourré alone).  Although they now make more from the tourist visits than the production of mushrooms!

Our very own camera museum has had many visitors from the local area as Jean-Louis continues to re-arrange and improve the displays.
We’ve seen a local newspaper journalist, the local TV station (TV Tours) and our ‘député' of the Assemblé Nationale, Mr Daniel Labaronne – our MP.

If you have any cameras that are gathering dust or on their way to the skip, bring them with you this summer….

Sarah is away this week on a CLEAN Language training course in the UK- fitting it in between her individual clients, the French CLEAN Association's Spring Conference in Paris next weekend and all her other commitments.  If you’d like to know more about what she does, go to: www.sarahscarrattcoaching.com

One bit of sad news a few weeks ago – Greg’s dog ‘Cayenne’ passed away.  She was very old and losing her faculties – but still very sad time for him. He has recently acquired a new dog as companion and guardian – look out for her during the season.

We are still looking for a couple of staff members, particularly for June and September.  If you have the urge to work hard in the sunshine for a couple of months – get in touch.
